How to Make a Sto Fen Type Wax Paper Diffuser

Step-by-Step Guide

   Step 1: Cut a strip of tape

   You will want it to fit around the circumference of the flash.
   
   Have the adhesive away from the flash.

   Step 2: approximately 9 inches (22.9 cm).

   This will allow you to adjust the diffuser without having the wax paper sticking to the tape. ,,,,, The cutout area is shown here with the Xs. , Be sure that it will fit around the flash and that the edges overlap. ,, That is where the diffused light will generate from. ,, Sticky edges will go together. ,

   Step 3: Put a piece of paper on the duct tape.

   Step 4: Fasten the duct tape around the flash and use scotch tape to temporarily hold it together.

   Step 5: Get a piece of wax paper about six inches square.

   Step 6: Use your intended flash and lightly trace around it so that you know what size you need it to me.

   Step 7: Draw a straight line out from all sides of the shape that you drew on the wax paper.

   Step 8: Cut the corners so that you have four tabs that you will fold over to make the box.

   Step 9: Fold over the tabs so that they meet and tape them.

    Step 10: Place the wax paper diffuser over the tape that is around the flash.

    Step 11: Be sure that there is about a half inch or more above the duct tape.

    Step 12: Use the scotch tape to fasten it in the correct place so that it won't move around.

    Step 13: Take a second piece of duct tape and place it on top of the other tape.
