    Move what’s left into the center of the room and cover with some plastic covers or drop cloths (both you can find at any hardware stores).

    Use removable masking tape around moldings, doors and windows, and drop cloths to protect floors, make sure that the tape is safe to use. ,,, Using a putty knife with joint compound to fill in all the holes and cracks.
