Step 1: Start the software.
Its icon looks like the tiny icon you see in reference to USB ports. -
Step 2: When you first open it
Be sure it is on Connectivity. , TetherPro will try to find your camera. , Check your battery.
If it is running low, it won't work. ,,, That can overwhelm your connection. , That is in your Set Up Menu (wrench for the Nikon). ,, You will need to reboot. , At this point, it should be working. -
Step 3: the Options dialog will come up.

Step 5: If this doesn't happen

Step 6: do the easiest and quickest fix first.

Step 7: change USB plug in locations.
