Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Cut one of the 4x4” posts in half using a handsaw.

    This will be the base of the Cat Climber. ,,,,,, As you wrap the rope around the post, staple on every other side to make sure it is tightly connected to the post. , One piece will cover the inside of the PVC pipe and the other will cover the outside. ,, Put the posts on opposite corners of the base.

    This may require about ten nails per post to make sure it is sturdy. , This should require about 2 or 3 screws per post. , Place one corner on the top of the shorter post and the side of one of the edges along the taller post. ,,
  2. Step 2: Cut a piece of carpet large enough to cover all

  4. Step 4: Use a staple gun and staple the carpet tightly to each post by placing a staple every inch along one side of the post.

  5. Step 5: Measure and cut out a piece of carpet to cover the top and sides of the 2x3 sheet of thick wood.

  6. Step 6: Staple this piece of carpet to the thick wood.

  7. Step 7: Cut two 1.5x1.5” pieces out of the thin sheet of wood.

  8. Step 8: Cut four strips about 3x1.5” from the left over section of the thin sheet of wood.

  9. Step 9: Measure and cut out pieces of carpet to cover each of the pieces from Steps 6 and 7.

  10. Step 10: Staple these pieces of carpet and wood together.

  11. Step 11: Hammer the carpeted 3x1.5” pieces to one of the carpeted 1.5x1.5" pieces around the edges to form an open box.

  12. Step 12: Wrap the rope around the sections of the wood posts that do not have carpet on them.

  13. Step 13: Measure and cut two pieces of carpet for the PVC pipe.

  14. Step 14: Glue the carpet onto the PVC pipe and let it stand for 30 minutes-1 hour.

  15. Step 15: Nail the posts to the base by nailing from the bottom of the base.

  16. Step 16: Screw the PVC pipe in between the two posts using a drill.

  17. Step 17: Nail the 1.5x1.5" with the 3x1.5" pieces on the edges to the posts.

  18. Step 18: Nail the flat carpeted 1.5x1.5" wood on top of the taller post.

  19. Step 19: Once you make sure the structure is sturdy

  20. Step 20: add toys that can hang from it for more appeal to your cat!
