Step-by-Step Guide

   Step 1: Hot glue the hinge down into the base of the tape dispenser

   (you can make 'hinge' by cutting a square from a plastic lid and folding in half) The hinge should go back and forth in the direction of the front and back of the dispenser.

   Step 2: about 3/4 the distance from the back of the dispenser.

   Put it in so that the sharp needle part is facing up in the same way as the bowl of the spoon.
   
   Bend the needle back against the neck of the spoon with needle nose pliers. ,, Pulling it back, place the other end of the band around the thumbtack. ,
