Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Take a strip of cardboard and glue two strips of aluminium foil to it

You can use just one or several.

Just don't use too many or it will arc and screw up the whole thing, possibly catching the cardboard on fire.

One terminal should be connected to each strip.

Use alligator clips, or be creative., to 1 in. strand of steel coat hangar.

Sand down the edges so there is a large conductive surface., The same poles should be facing each other.

They will repel but will hold on to the steel.

No glue required., It should move.,
  2. Step 2: about half an inch apart and not touching each other at any point.

  3. Step 3: Hook up the battery.

  4. Step 4: Cut a 3/4 in.

  5. Step 5: Take two identical

  6. Step 6: circular magnets and put them on the steel coat hangar's ends.

  7. Step 7: Place the magnet/coat hangar "projectile" with one magnet on each strip of the foil.

  8. Step 8: Play around with it until it works as you would think it should: the "projectile" will roll down the tracks.
