How to Install AirPort Extreme

Step-by-Step Guide

   Step 1: Connect the AirPort Extreme Base Station to a power source using the supplied AC power adapter.

   The router will automatically power on after being connected to a power source. ,, When it does, the AirPort Utility application will automatically launch and display on-screen.
   
   Open the Applications folder, click on “Utilities,” and open AirPort Utility if the program fails to launch automatically.

   To reset your wireless password, press the reset button for one full second using the tip of a pen or pencil, release after one second, then click on “Edit” in AirPort Utility to re-enter your password.
   
   To perform a full factory reset, disconnect the AirPort Extreme from its power source, press and hold the reset button, then reconnect the AirPort Extreme to its power source while continuing to hold the reset button.
   
   This will restore the device back to factory settings. , In some cases, your modem may not readily detect AirPort Extreme upon connecting the two devices.Power off your modem, then power it back on after two to three minutes while leaving the AirPort Extreme connected to the modem. , In some cases, interference could result in a faulty or slow Internet connection.Launch AirPort Utility, click on the “Wireless” tab, click on “Wireless Options,” select a different channel, then click on “Save.”

   Step 2: Connect the AirPort Extreme Base Station to your cable or DSL modem using an ethernet cable.
