Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Before installing the checkpoint SPLAT(smart platform).

    Install VMware.

    From http://www.vmware.com/ and install it.

    VMware is used to create a virtual machine to install the SPLAT.

    Make note that the Check Point SPLAT is an operating system.
  2. Step 2: you need to use the checkpoint SPLAT iso to install the operating system.

    , Select typical installation. ,,, click on next, select default space to 20GB. ,, I recommend a Bridged connection and a VMnet connection for starters.

    This will help you install NIC's. ,, It's a straight forward installation from here.

    Make sure to make note of your IP.

  4. Step 4: select "create new virtual machine".

  5. Step 5: Select "Installer disc image(iso)" option and select the ISO file which contains the OS.

  6. Step 6: Now select your Guest OS as Linux and choose version as Red Hat Linux.

  7. Step 7: Give a name for your virtual machine.

  8. Step 8: In the next window

  9. Step 9: select customize hardware

  10. Step 10: change the RAM size to 1024MB at least.

  11. Step 11: Now comes the important part

  12. Step 12: select the network adapter and select the types of network adapters you wish to have in your virtual machine.

  13. Step 13: Now click close and finish to start the Virtual Machine.

  14. Step 14: Follow the onscreen instructions to install SPLAT OS.
