How to Install Chromium OS

Step-by-Step Guide

   Step 1: Download Chromium OS build from http://chromium.arnoldthebat.co.uk.

   To flash the Chromium OS image to USB drive, a 4GB or larger (8GB) drive is recommended. ,, Browse to your downloaded and extracted img file., This can usually be done using a keyboard command such as F12.,, After your computer has booted to the Chromium OS login screen, press Ctrl+Alt+F2.
   
   Log in with the chronos user and enter the password as password. ,, Once Chromium OS has completed installing it will ask you to remove the USB drive and restart the computer; go ahead and do this when prompted.

   Step 2: Download the Chromebook recovery tool from the Chrome store.

   Step 5: Restart your computer and boot from the USB drive.

   Step 6: Connect to a WiFi network once Chromium OS has booted.

   Step 7: Get to a command prompt on Chromium OS.

   Step 8: Install your Chromium OS image to the hard disk on your computer with this command: /usr/sbin/chromeos-install --dst /dev/sda This command will erase everything on your hard drive and install Chromium OS.

   Step 9: Wait for the installation to complete.
