Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Download the latest version of Ubuntu Server and burn it to a disk;

    If you already know this select no on the Detect Keyboard Layout prompt and enter it manually, if not select yes ,,, There is guided partitioning or you can do it manually, if you are installing alongside another operating system.

    Select LVM if you think you will need to partition the disk again later. ,, Only do this if you are afraid someone might steal the hard drive, if not select no, as it will slow down your server. ,, Press the space bar to select software, when finished press enter to continue.

    You can continue without installing any software and install it later if you wish. , Only install this if there are no other operating systems on the machine, as it will overwrite any existing boot loaders. ,
