Step 1: Collect parts for assembly.
Scuffing the wheel bead surface gives the glue a rougher and easier surface to adhere to.
The wheel bead surface is the outside edge of the wheel when viewed from the side.
There will be a protruding ridge less than an 1/8 in. tall that runs around the wheel right next to wheel bead surface. , The tire bead its the edge of the hole in the tire when viewed from the side. , This allows or prevents temporary tire deformation while driving over varied terrain. ,, RC Tires are usually symmetrical but some have tread that is designed to roll in a specific direction.
If this is the case the tires will either be labeled with an arrow to show roll direction or will come with some form of literature to inform the consumer of tread direction.
If your particular RC tire has a tread orientation or specific direction the tire is supposed to roll, be sure to orient wheels accordingly. ,,,,,, -
Step 2: Scuff wheel bead surface by lightly sanding with fine grade sandpaper such as 220 grit.
-
Step 3: Clean scuffed area on wheels and tire beads with rubbing alcohol.
-
Step 4: Push the tire foams into each tire Foam may be removed or added to tune how soft or hard the tires are.
-
Step 5: Massage foam insert completely into tire so that it fills the interior space of the tire evenly.
-
Step 6: Push the RC wheel into the hole of the tire.
-
Step 7: Line up bead with wheel mounting surface.
-
Step 8: Push sidewall and bead of tire away from wheel and apply a drop of glue to tire bead.
-
Step 9: Release tire and allow it to re seat on the wheel.
-
Step 10: Apply slight pressure to outside of tire for 5-10 seconds
-
Step 11: Repeat this process of pushing the tire bead away from wheel and applying glue while moving around the entire edge of the wheel and tire.
-
Step 12: Flip the tire over
