Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Lay your first square of paper in front of you.

    Repeat with the top edge so that the square now forms a rectangle. ,,,, Two of the corners should already have the folds necessary to do this. , (See picture.) Repeat with the top. , You should see a line running from the top right corner to the middle of the bottom. , (This means the bottom right-hand corner will meet the quarter-line from the top.) , This should push a piece of the model vertically sideways

    - this step is easier to demonstrate than to explain in words.) ,,,,,,, If you wish, you can take three different colours of paper and cut two squares from each, so that in the end you will have six models in three different colours.
  2. Step 2: Fold it in half horizontally.

  3. Step 3: Open it up again.

  4. Step 4: Fold the bottom edge upwards to meet the horizontal center-line.

  5. Step 5: Take the bottom right-hand corner of your rectangle and fold it up to meet the middle of the top of the rectangle.

  6. Step 6: Take the top left-hand corner of the rectangle and fold it down to the middle of the bottom of the rectangle.

  7. Step 7: Open the whole model up again so that it becomes a square.

  8. Step 8: Fold all four corners of the square in towards the two quarter-lines.

  9. Step 9: Fold the bottom of the square upwards to meet the quarter-line.

  10. Step 10: Look at your model.

  11. Step 11: Fold along this line.

  12. Step 12: Fold what remains of the bottom horizontally upwards along the quarter-line.

  13. Step 13: Rotate your model 180 degrees and repeat the previous three steps.

  14. Step 14: Lift your top right-hand edge a little and you will see that there is a flap running underneath it.

  15. Step 15: Push your top right-hand edge underneath this flap.

  16. Step 16: Turn your model over.

  17. Step 17: Fold the left-hand edge of the parallelogram in to meet the bottom right-hand corner.

  18. Step 18: Fold the right-hand edge to meet the top left-hand corner so that the model forms a miniature square again.

  19. Step 19: Make five more of the same models.
