Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Point your Glock in a safe direction.

    Make sure there are no people or pets in the direction you are pointing in.
  2. Step 2: Press in on the magazine clip to release the magazine.

    Your fingers should remain outside of the trigger guard. , Repeat this several times to be sure all bullets are ejected.

    The last time you pull back the slide, use the thumb of your shooting hand to push up the slide stop lever to lock the slide in the open position. ,,, Pull the trigger to put it into the rear position.
  3. Step 3: Use four fingers of your free hand to pull the slide back to eject any rounds that are in the chamber.

  4. Step 4: Look into the chamber and magazine to ensure all bullets have been removed.

  5. Step 5: Use a finger(usually your pinky) to physically make sure the chamber and magazine well are empty.

  6. Step 6: Release your slide and point your gun in a safe direction.
