How to Make a Beach Bag Using a Shower Curtain

   Step 1: Make a pattern for your beach bag out of newspaper.

   If you want the bottom of the beach bag to be rounded, fold the newspaper in half before cutting so that once the pattern is unfolded.
   
   That way, it will be full size, with both bottom corners cut in exactly the same shape.

   Given the size of the shower curtain, you can make your beach bag as large as you'd like.

   Step 2: Fold the shower curtain in half.

   Have the shower curtain ring holes facing the top of your working surface.

   Sew the open ends of each strap together. , Sew a seam around the three open sides of the pocket leaving a 3/4 inch opening on one side. , Tuck the fabric from the 3/4 inch (1.9 cm) opening inside and press so that it aligns with the rest of the pocket.
   
   The opening will be sewn shut when the pocket is attached to the beach bag. , Sew around three sides of the pocket, leaving the top side open. ,, Sew a zig-zag stitch around the hem to reduce fraying. ,, Repeat the process in the last hole on the same side of the bag. , The bag is now ready for use.
