Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Cut the construction paper into squares

    and ending at about 1x1in., going in increments of about 1/2 in.

    There only needs to be 3-4 of each size square.

    Measurements do not have to be precise.
  2. Step 2: starting from about 4x4in.

    , from the eraser end of the pencil and double it until it is tight. ,, Push it down against the paper. ,,, The paper squares should have made a Christmas tree shape. ,,, you can cut it off, Pain it to match the rest of the tree or leave it to decorate with a star, bow, etc. , This will be the stand for your tree. ,,
  3. Step 3: Cut each normal-sized pipe cleaner in to 3rds.

  4. Step 4: Put your rubber band about 1in.

  5. Step 5: Holding the eraser end of the pencil

  6. Step 6: poke the pencil through the middle of a paper square from the biggest group.

  7. Step 7: Take on of your pipe cleaner sections and wrap it tightly around the pencil above the paper square.

  8. Step 8: Do the same with another square from the same group.

  9. Step 9: When you have used all the squares from the biggest group

  10. Step 10: move on to the next smallest group.

  11. Step 11: Keep alternating the pipe cleaners and the squares

  12. Step 12: until you have used up all the paper squares (There should not be a pipe cleaner after the last square).

  13. Step 13: Squish everything down tight towards the rubber band (the eraser end of the pencil).

  14. Step 14: Put the second rubber band around the top of the tree

  15. Step 15: up against the last paper square to keep it from falling off.

  16. Step 16: The tip of the pencil should be sticking out.

  17. Step 17: Using another pencil

  18. Step 18: make a hole through your candle just big enough for your pencil to fit through.

  19. Step 19: You can now decorate your tree with - paint

  20. Step 20: paper clips

  21. Step 21: brass paper fasteners

  22. Step 22: glitter
