How to Add Background Music to a Video in iMovie
Open iMovie., Make sure that the music file is in a playlist in iTunes., Go back to iMovie., Scroll down the options and you will find the playlist that you added earlier, with the audio file inside it., Click share, then export with QuickTime.

Step 1: Open iMovie.
Then load up your video file. -
Step 2: Make sure that the music file is in a playlist in iTunes.
If your music is in Finder, or on the desktop, simply make a new playlist in iTunes and add the audio file to the playlist by dragging and dropping. , There will be a box showing the first frame of the video.
Underneath this box, you will find a section of icons; click the little music note. , Drag and drop the audio file onto the video, and the audio is successfully added to the video! , The file will then export to your preferred location.
Now, you have background audio on your video file! -
Step 3: Go back to iMovie.
