Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Go to Goodsprings and talk to Joe Cobb after you meet him in the Saloon and ask him about taking over Goodsprings.

    He will tell you to go kill someone named Ringo who you can find at the old abandoned gas station which is up the hill that is next to Doc Mitchell's house.
  2. Step 2: When you enter the gas station and Ringo stops you tell him that you're not an enemy and then say goodbye at the next screen.

    ,,,,,, At this point you will be able to do that over and over again as many times as you want and each time you get 27
    - 35 XP depending on whether or not you have the swift learner perk or not.
  3. Step 3: After this you merely shoot him a few times in VATS and then return to Joe Cobb.

  4. Step 4: Once you return to Joe Cobb tell him that Ringo is dead.

  5. Step 5: After that he will ask you to go get supplies if you want and tell him when you're ready.

  6. Step 6: Once you are done talking to him save the game and then proceed to shoot him and kill all of his gang members as well.

  7. Step 7: Once you're done with that make sure you have a speech or barter level of 25

  8. Step 8: Go to the General Store that is next to the saloon and ask Chet for supplies for the Powder Gangers.
