Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Open Internet Explorer.

    Click the "Star" on the upper right of the browser then click "Add to favorites". ,,, then click the Next button to continue.

    What you select next will depend on what option you clicked. , If you choose to import your settings from another browser, Internet Explorer can import your bookmarks, settings and other saved files from Safari for WIndows or Google Chrome, so click the appropriate checkbox then click "Next" and "Next" again to save your saved files in Explorer. , Click the Next button to continue. ,, YOu won't need to complete this step, if you've exported them; but you will need to know exactly where this saved page is to complete the export to other browsers. , Click the "Export to a file" option then Next button to continue.

    Make sure that "Favorites" box is checked and click "Next" then select the folder of bookmarks/favorites you'd like to export and click "Next".

    Watch the location it will save the HTML file to; by default it saves your file in your personal Documents folder then click the "Export" button. ,, (On older versions, you'll have to select the Bookmarks" option from the bookmarks section of the toolbar.) Click the toolbar option at the top right corner of the screen that looks like a clipboard with a piece of lined paper on it, and select "Show all bookmarks". ,, You'll have two choices to choose from.

    Choose either "Import Bookmarks from HTML" or "Export Bookmarks to HTML". ,, This will either load your bookmarks from the HTML file you saved (when importing) or save the file for loading onto another browser (when exporting) where you'll be able to take over. ,,, Currently, you're only able to import them from Internet Explorer (and thereby Edge too) as well as Mozilla Firefox. ,,,,, The menu button can be found in the upper right corner of the screen. ,,, THis file it creates can be opened in another browser for importation using that other browser's method of importing.
