Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Gather the supplies needed.

    You'll find them listed in the 'Things You'll Need' section below.

    The use of styrofoam in this project is to provide a soft and protective surface for the CD's to rest on.

    It's also a great way to reuse unwanted pieces of styrofoam you have in storage.
  2. Step 2: Cut the styrofoam in a 6" x 6" (15cm x 15cm) square using the X-acto® knife.

    If you're making a CD holder for a Mini-CD, then you'll want the measurements to be approximately 3½" x 3½" (8.89cm x
    8.89cm).

    If you'd like your styrofoam to be be colorful or patterned, decorate it with markers or paint at this stage.

    Allow to dry before moving to the next steps. , Ensure that there is a little bit of room to spare to make it easier to slide the CD's on.

    If the CD's fit, then move onto the next step.

    If the CD's don't fit, use only one pencil and mentally convert all the 'two pencils' later in the steps, to 'one pencil'.

    Also, skip step 4 (see below). , You won't want them to be able to move too much. ,, Enjoy!
  3. Step 3: Hold two pencils together and see if a CD will fit on them.

  4. Step 4: Tape the two pencils together.

  5. Step 5: Stick the pencils in the very middle of the styrofoam until you reach the bottom.

  6. Step 6: Put the CDs onto the pencils.
