Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Select a pot big enough to make the amount of popcorn you want.

    Make sure you have the proper lid for this pot.

    Add just enough oil to barely cover the bottom of the pot.

    You can use canola oil or vegetable oil for this instead of olive oil because the olive oil doesn't hold up as well under heat.
  2. Step 2: Place your popcorn kernels in the pot estimating that 1 tablespoon of unpopped popcorn will equal approximately 1 cup of the corn after it has popped.

    , Use medium heat.

    Put the lid on the pot, and wait for the popcorn to pop.

    DO NOT OPEN THE LID until you are done.

    DO NOT WALK AWAY from the stove. , DO NOT REMOVE THE LID for another 30 seconds or so to insure that all kernels have popped. , Remove the lid, and transfer the popcorn into serving bowls.

    Add salt, popcorn salt, or Parmesan cheese, and enjoy.
