Step 1: Cut four pieces of batting in the shape of an arch.
Imagine the pad shaped as a "D" and you will be able to cut the pattern out.
You can have a friend measure the curve of your shoulder area or make a guesstimate.
The shoulder pad shown at Burda.com is 5 1⁄2 inches (14.0 cm) by 4 inches (10.2 cm). -
Step 2: Make two darts on the curved edge.
The first dart should be 1/4-inches while the second dart should be 1/2-inches.. ,,,, Make sure the pin heads are facing towards the inner part of the pads. ,, -
Step 3: Sew the darts using your sewing machine Do this for both pads.

Step 4: Cut a piece of lining fabric approximately 1-inch larger than the pads.

Step 5: Fold the lining fabric over the pad so that the fabric encloses the pads.

Step 6: Pin the edges of the pads.
