How to Tie a Tie Half Windsor

Step-by-Step Guide

   Step 1: Face the mirror and place the tie around your neck.

   The wide end should drape down about 10 or 12 inches (25.4 or
   30.5 cm) below the thin end to begin.

   Step 2: Loop the wide end around the narrow end.

   Bring the wide end over the narrow end, then behind it, creating a loop. , Start by lifting it out in front of your body, then flip it over and tuck it into the space between the tie and your collar. , Bring it out to the front, then cross it over the narrow end from right to left. , Tuck it upward between the tie loop and your collar. , Pull the wide end down through the knot at the front of the tie.
   
   Tighten it and adjust the tie so that the knot has a symmetrical shape. , Tighten the tie around your collar by pulling on the narrow side of the tie, which should now be hidden underneath the wide side of the tie.
   
   If your tie has a carrier loop underneath the wide side of the tie, you may slide the narrow side through that loop to prevent it from "peeking" from behind the wide side of the tie.

   Step 3: Tuck the wide end into the neck loop.
