Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Click the Application Button in the upper left-hand corner of the application window.

    This will open a document control menu with file and document commands.
  2. Step 2: Click PowerPoint Options at the bottom of the document control menu.

    This will open the PowerPoint Options window. , This will open the AutoCorrect control window. , There are check boxes for some of the most common AutoCorrect features, such as Correct TWo INitial Capitals. , Add new AutoCorrect items – Type the text you want replaced in the Replace: text field and the text you want to replace it with in the With: text box.

    Then click Add.

    Remove AutoCorrect items – Highlight the items in the list you want deleted and click the Delete button. , This will present a list of exceptions.

    You can add or delete exceptions to the first letter capitalization and initial capitalization by using the add or delete buttons. ,,,,, You should see the text instantly corrected as you type. ,
  3. Step 3: Select Proofing on the left and click the AutoCorrect Options button displayed on the right of this window.

  4. Step 4: Select the AutoCorrect options you want enabled.

  5. Step 5: Add or delete any specific text you want to have corrected.

  6. Step 6: Enter Exceptions for first letter capitalization and initial capitalization to the AutoCorrect function by selecting the Exceptions button in the main AutoCorrect configuration window.

  7. Step 7: Click OK when done with exceptions.

  8. Step 8: Select the Format As You Type tab to select from a list of other common AutoCorrect functions.

  9. Step 9: Select the Smart Tags to access a list of advanced AutoCorrect features.

  10. Step 10: Click OK when you are done customizing AutoCorrect.

  11. Step 11: Test it by typing in text you know has been entered in the AutoCorrect list.
