Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Measure the rug you'd like to ship.

    Rugs are normally measured first by width then length, in feet.

    Multiple length by 12 to get inches (tarps are normally measured by inches)
  2. Step 2: Purchase either clear or colored plastic painters tarp and duck tape.

    You can purchase this at your local hardware store.

    Make sure to buy the tarp that is as long as your rug , Allow yourself to have at least 1 foot (0.3 m) on each side of the rug for space. ,, If the tarp is wider than the rug, cut to have at most 2 feet (0.6 m) on either side. ,,,,,,,
  3. Step 3: Remove all items/furniture off the rug.

  4. Step 4: Open tarp to the full length of the rug.

  5. Step 5: Have at most 2 feet (0.6 m) on either side of the rug.

  6. Step 6: Slide the tarp to the halfway point of the rug

  7. Step 7: Start rolling the rug (on the side that does not have tarp.

  8. Step 8: Continue rolling onto the tarp.

  9. Step 9: When the rug is completely wrapped in the tarp

  10. Step 10: continue rolling in place to create a tighter wrap.

  11. Step 11: Fold sides on to the rug and duck tape all openings.

  12. Step 12: Continue duck taping the rug until all openings are taped down.

  13. Step 13: Apply shipping label and call your local delivery service.
