Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Open up PD Howler and open your image in it.

    This will immediately put your image in a globe shape. , This will allow a transparent background. , Select the black background of the image.

    Once selected, invert the selection and then shrink the selection.

    Both options are under Select. , If you accidentally delete the sphere, invert the selection again and delete the background again. , Repeat the above process if it doesn't work exactly right. ,, This will take you to the dialog box for the transformation.
  2. Step 2: Click on Filter >> Transform  >> Globe.

    You can move the angle of the light and add or subtract texture and also adjust the hue and saturation for a change in color. ,
  3. Step 3: Save the image as a PNG or GIF.

  4. Step 4: Open up in Gimp (or any software you have that will create transparent backgrounds.

  5. Step 5: Delete the background.
