Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: open GIMP.

    I have used an eye for my demonstration. ,, When your finish and connect the line, you will find a pattern outlining it looking very much like marching ants. ,,,, Go to the 'Layers' tab. (Not the one you have used before, there are two!) ,,,, You do not need to repeat all of the steps, just refill the layer with a different color. ,,
  2. Step 2: Select File

  3. Step 3: and select your image.

  4. Step 4: Select the lasso

  5. Step 5: or the Free Select Tool.

  6. Step 6: Outline what you wish to change the color of in your image.

  7. Step 7: Select Layers

  8. Step 8: New Layer.

  9. Step 9: Select Bucket Fill

  10. Step 10: the choose your color.

  11. Step 11: Fill what you have selected with that color.

  12. Step 12: It should look very unrealistic.

  13. Step 13: Where it says 'Mode: Normal'

  14. Step 14: Click it and it should have a drop-down menu.

  15. Step 15: Select Overlay.

  16. Step 16: on the Select tab

  17. Step 17: click 'Select None'

  18. Step 18: Now is the time to edit your color

  19. Step 19: if you don't like it!

  20. Step 20: If you are positive you like what you are seeing

  21. Step 21: Go back to layers and Select 'Merge down'.
