Step 1: Save the .abr file that contains the brush or pattern you want to use.
This will save the individual patterns or brushes as .pngs.
Select a place to save them. ,, You may need to specify an extension in the filename box for the file to save properly. , This is usually C:\Documents and Settings\username\.gimp-2.6\patterns.
If you need to find this folder you can look it Edit
-> Preferences
