  1. Step 1: Open Skype.

    It’s a blue and white icon with an “S” on your home screen.

    If you don't have the Skype app on your iPhone or iPad, you'll need to download it from the App Store.

  2. Step 2: Sign in to your Skype account.

    If you haven’t yet signed in, type your Skype username, email address, or phone number, then tap the arrow to enter your password.

    Once you’ve entered the correct information, tap Sign In.

    If you see a pop-up message about a Skype feature, read the message and tap Got It. , The person who requested you as a contact appears at the top of the list.

    You’ll see the words “Contact request” beneath their name. , The person who sent the request will be added to your contacts and you’ll be able to exchange messages right away.
  3. Step 3: Tap the requesting contact’s name.
