How to Adjust Brightness on an iPhone

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Press the iPhone's Home button.

    This is not necessary if you have the control center enabled for use from apps and the lock screen in Settings → Control Center.
  2. Step 2: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

    This can be done from any screen or app (if enabled) to bring up the Control Center with a list of quick options. , This is the horizontal bar with a small “sun” icon on each end.

    Moving the slider to the right makes the screen brighter; to the left makes it darker.
  3. Step 3: Move the brightness slider left or right.
