How to Change an iLO Password

Step-by-Step Guide

   Step 1: Connect a keyboard

   If there are multiple slots for power cords, plug them all in.,, If the server was already on, turn it off and then on again., This will happen shortly after an HP Prolite graphic appears.,,,,,,,, Create a DOS bootable USB flash key NOTE:
   You can use HP USB Key Utility.

   Step 2: mouse and monitor to the back of the server.

   Step 3: Plug the server into a power source.

   Step 4: Connect the server to a router that has an internet connection.

   Step 5: Power up the server while watching the monitor.

   Step 6: Wait for the message "Integrated lights-out server

   Step 7: press <f8> to continue."

   Step 8: Press F8 and go to Users.

   Step 9: Scroll down to Edit and select Administrator.

    Step 10: Change the password as desired and press F10 to save.

    Step 11: Go to Network and select Information.

    Step 12: Write down the IP address and press Esc to return to the previous menu.

    Step 13: Go to File and select Exit to quit.

    Step 14: On your computer

    Step 15: enter in the IP address that you wrote down into a browser and log in using the name Administrator and your new password.

    Step 16: Follow these steps to reset your password.

    Step 17: Download the IPMItool from this link: https://sourceforge.net/projects/ipmitool/

    Step 18: Copy the IPMItool.exe to the bootable disk.

    Step 19: Boot the server using the bootable disk (check boot order in RBSU).

    Step 20: Run ipmitool.exe 20 18 47 03 02 61 64 6d 69 6e 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 #*NOTE: You can copy this command and paste to batch file.

    Step 21: Now the password for admin account should reset back to admin .
