How to Create an Account in GnuCash
Click on File >> New File., Click Forward., Choose the types of accounts to create., Change names if you choose., Click Apply to create the new account with the various 'sub' accounts within.

Step 1: Click on File >> New File.
This will bring you to the Hierarchy Setup dialog screen. -
Step 2: Click Forward.
This takes you to the screen that you choose the currency.
Select the appropriate type.
Click Forward again. , Pick as many as you think might apply.
Click Forward. , Once you get to the screen that lists the accounts, change the names of any of them if you would like.
Do this by double clicking on them and then typing in the new name. , Give it a name that will help you identify it. -
