Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Sign in with an administrator account.

    Guest and standard accounts will not be able to downgrade.

    To see what account type you have, go to Start > Click/tap profile picture > Change account settings.

    Look under your username.
  2. Step 2: Open the Windows 10 Settings app.

    This can be found on the bottom-left of the Start menu or by searching with Cortana. ,,,,, It will then take you through the downgrade process.
  3. Step 3: Click or tap the Update & security category.

  4. Step 4: Select Recovery from the left pane.

  5. Step 5: Click on the Get Started button under "Go back to Windows 7/8.1"

  6. Step 6: Provide feedback on why you're downgrading.

  7. Step 7: Complete the process.
