How to Get a Wireless Connection on Your Xbox 360 With Another PC

Step-by-Step Guide

   Step 1: Connect CAT5 cable end 1 into your xbox 360;

   Note:
   Network and connection might be named different on different operating systems. ,,, Copy down the DNS servers onto paper.
   
   If your DNS server is
   192.168.1.1 skip to the last step. , Click on Internet Protocol (IP/TCP)and select 'properties'.
   
   Select the 'use the following IP addresses' and 'use the following DNS serves addresses' options then enter this information IP address:
   192.168.0.99, Subnet Mask:
   255.255.255.0, Default Gateway: (Leave this one blank) and Preferred DNS: (Enter the first DNS Server you saved from the last step)/Alternate DNS: (Enter the Second DNS Server you wrote down from the previous step) ,,, Press done and go back to 'edit settings'
   
   Set DNS settings for both primary and secondary as
   192.168.0.99. , A message should pop up, click yes.
   
   Do not continue to the last step you are now finished. , This can be done by changing your router settings.

   Step 2: Connect CAT5 cable end 2 into the laptop or computer your using

   Step 3: Go onto the computer you are using and go to start; control panel; Network and connections.

   Step 4: In the Network and Connections there should be at least 2 connections: Your Local Area Connection (Your internet) and another which will be your Xbox.

   Step 5: Right click on your wireless internet connection and click 'status' and then 'support'

   Step 6: Select 'details'.

   Step 7: Go back to the connections and right click your xbox connection and go to 'Properties'.

   Step 8: Now its time to set up your xbox

   Step 9: turn your xbox on and go to system

    Step 10: then network settings.

    Step 11: Go to edit settings>Ip settings>Select manual

    Step 12: Enter the following information: IP 192.168.0.100 (The IP from my PC and yours may be different)

    Step 13: Subnet mask 255.255.255.0

    Step 14: Gateway 192.168.0.99.

    Step 15: Go back to your computer in the network connections right click on your Wireless Network Connection and go to properties

    Step 16: click advanced and check the box saying 'allow other users to connect to internet through this computer'.

    Step 17: You will have to change this DNS server number or it will conflict your IP address.
