Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Step 1: Lay out a towel or some type of soft cloth on a table or any other hard and flat surface.

    Remove the panel itself. ,,,, This will uncover the RAM. , Continue to gently shake them from side to side.

    Finally ease the card out of it's socket. ,,, Clean the fan too, but very very gently. , (note: you may have to us a pair of engineer's pliers over here). ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Then press downwards till you hear a click. ,,
  2. Step 2: Flip the laptop over so that the bottom is easily accessible.

  3. Step 3: Gather and place all the necessary tools

  6. Step 6: a tiny soft-bristled brush; and in this case a couple of broken and sharpened hacksaw blades

  7. Step 7: within easy reach.

  8. Step 8: Remove the two screws on the small panel at the right bottom (hard disk cover)

  9. Step 9: using the watchmaker screwdriver.

  10. Step 10: Proceed to remove the recessed screw on the right side of the hard disk.

  11. Step 11: Gently slide the hard disk to the right with the hacksaw blades.

  12. Step 12: Remove the hard disk

  13. Step 13: and brush the disk and recess clean.

  14. Step 14: Unscrew two tiny screws on the small panel to the left of the hard disk panel.

  15. Step 15: Gently prise open the two white plastic clips; while at the same time lift the RAM card/s at an angle of 45 degrees.

  16. Step 16: Locate and remove the panel covering the processor

  17. Step 17: which is to the left of the RAM housing.

  18. Step 18: Carefully and slowly unscrew the very tiny screws for the fan housing.

  19. Step 19: Use the brush to clean out the accumulated grime and dust blocking the vents.

  20. Step 20: Turning the laptop on it's base

  21. Step 21: remove all the screws behind it.

  22. Step 22: Open the laptop and spread it out to remove the screws on the display bezel...."BUT" wait for the next instruction before you do so!

  23. Step 23: Place a sheet of styrofoam or any piece of soft

  24. Step 24: but rigid material to soften the impact of the pressure you will apply when unscrewing the bezel.

  25. Step 25: Prise open the bezel very gently by alternating the two levers (sharpened pieces of hacksaw blades).

  26. Step 26: Continue this procedure all around the bezel.

  27. Step 27: Unscrew the hinge screws and carefully lift out the display connectors with the lighting circuits.

  28. Step 28: Move out the back cover of the display and clean.

  29. Step 29: Pry off the plate covering the power-on button with the hacksaw blades

  30. Step 30: to access the screws holding down the keyboard.

  31. Step 31: Lift the keyboard and turn over.

  32. Step 32: Unscrew the optical drive-retaining screw under the keyboard.

  33. Step 33: Flip the open laptop over again and slide out the optical drive.

  34. Step 34: Disconnect the main bottom panel.

  35. Step 35: Stand the main chassis vertically up and clean thoroughly with the brush.

  36. Step 36: Check the rechargeable CMOS battery; clean and replace if necessary.

  37. Step 37: Check and clean any other small component

  38. Step 38: like speakers and touch pad.

  39. Step 39: Unscrew as depicted.

  40. Step 40: Locate the screws holding the optical drive mounting flange.

  41. Step 41: Remove the flange.

  42. Step 42: Unscrew the back plate as depicted.

  43. Step 43: Brush gently to remove any fluff.

  44. Step 44: Cleaning this would not be advisable

  45. Step 45: unless you have the required expertise

  46. Step 46: or access to instructions elsewhere on the web.

  47. Step 47: Flip the drive over and softly clean the ribbon connectors and drive-door-opening

  48. Step 48: motor-spindle for any fluff.

  49. Step 49: This is the clean power-button circuit.
