How to Search Using Spotlight on macOS

Step 1: Click the magnifying glass icon.
This is located in the upper right corner of the menu bar.
Spotlight will open in the center of the screen.
You can also use the keyboard shortcut ⌘ Cmd+Space to open spotlight from any other screen. -
Step 2: Begin typing.
The spotlight search field is selected by default when it is opened.
Related search results will automatically appear as you type.
