   Step 1: Make sure your computer is upgraded to OSX Yosemite and that your phone is upgraded to iOS 8.1 or later.

   Your devices should be connected to the same iCloud account and the same wi-fi network.

   Step 2: Open System Preferences on your computer.

   , Make sure Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices is turned on. ,,,, and turn on Text Message Forwarding. ,, This should appear on your computer.
   
   Type it into your iPhone to activate SMS forwarding.
