How to Show Character Preview on an iPhone
Open your iPhone’s Settings., Scroll down and tap General., Scroll down and tap Keyboards., Scroll down and slide the Character Preview button to the “on” position.

The icon looks like a set of grey gears and is located on one the home screens.
If Settings isn’t present on a home screen, its icon can be located in the Utilities folder on one of the home screens. -
Step 2: Scroll down and tap General.
